#1: Godric - True Blood
Godric may not seem like the obvious choice for #1, but most would agree that he certainly deserves a spot on this list. As a human, he was physically and sexually abused by his master before being turned into a vampire. He then spent thousands of years killing and torturing innocent people for fun. At some point, however, Godric began to appreciate humanity and eventually saw humans as equals. He even offered himself as a sacrifice to a radical anti-vampire movement as a gesture that he hoped would help bring about peace between humans and vampires. The plan had some issues along the way, but Godric did decide to sacrifice himself anyway by ‘meeting the sun.’ Even after his death, the character occasionally appears through flashbacks and hallucinations to remind us how incredibly badass he was.
